Winter Haven is known for the lakes that are located all over the city. 50 lakes can be found all over the city. A vast majority of the lakes are classified as solution lakes because most of them formed in a similar fashion to sinkholes, through dissolving of the limestone ground. Cypress Gardens opened in 1936 and was billed as Florida’s first commercial tourist theme park. The botanical gardens has been inside Legoland Florida.
